Solera Volume I Whisky
Whitton Malt House has launched our very own single malt whisky in partnership with the award-winning Corowa brand. Solera is a traditional method the Spanish used to age Sherry for the purpose of maintaining consistent quality. Solera is a process of fractional blending to ensure the finished product is a mixture of ages. The unique co-branded label of Solera Volume I, features gold highlights which are a significant representation of the connection between farmer, malter and distiller. Using Barellan grown Schooner Barley, which was malted by Voyager Craft Malt just next door to Whitton Malt House, the whisky was then matured in American oak, heavily charred ex-port barrels at the Corowa Distilling Co, just 200km south of Whitton Malt House. Solera Volume I is a 55% ABV (alcohol by volume), 4 to 5-year-old Whisky with a unique flavour profile including the bold and bright notes of cherry, vanilla, sweet spice, and dark chocolate.
Which makes our limited-edition Solera Volume I whisky the perfect Christmas gift.
